Eight years ago today, we lost my father, who was 98-1/2 years old. He and I had a fraught relationship when I was young that never really reached the fruition it might have. But he was a loving and beloved grandfather to my kids and lived long enough to meet, hold, and hug his great-granddaughter. He lived a full and long life. His memory is a blessing.
