An interesting article - but limited.

I was interested to see the statement 'On this trajectory, the SNP will return with fury in 2029 and win a clear mandate for a second referendum. '

Not if Westminster gets a say! But his pinning of Starmer and the 'Labour Establishment's' two arsed faceness is bang on. And this in The Times as well! The union is still living on borrowed time.

'Pension funds, are moving into bitcoin. Retail investors have long been doing so. Soon there will be more products, less oversight, more complex instruments to invest in, easier debt to help buy them and prices that seem to climb ever higher. Doesn’t history show where this ends, once the whole world financial system is entangled with it?'

Bad Habits, a story of nrefarious doings in a 'closed order'

Clearly influenced by Eco's Name of The Rose this story of disappearances within a closed order is disturbing in it's madness. Good reading for anyone who has ever wondered about religious fundamentalism and challenges to doctrine - with a couple of bodies thrown in for good measure. True religious zealotry and madness in a 'cosy' setting. I don't buy the coveruup.

This type of idea has been discussed for a long time and variants frequently appear, although I have not seen it in the Gruaniad before. Good idea or the mutha of all trade wars?

The connection between high fertiliser use and a massive reduction in floqwer numbers and pollinating insects has been confirmed in the longest running study of the subject to date.

This should come as no surprise but it is another example of how modern farming methods (including ploughing practices) are preparing us for a bleak future.

AI - an obvious use!

The Government, bereft of original ideas and unable to listen to people has explained why Starmer is so keen on AI!

Parlex is one of a suite of AI tools being developed for ministers and civil servants which allows them to predict which topics might cause them difficulty with their own backbenchers – and pinpoint specific MPs who feel passionately about a given subject.

The lunacies that are reoresented by cryptocurrencies

I hate to say it, but there are a lot of people who believe that they can make their fortune by diligently doing nowt other than 'investing'. And there are investments and 'investments'. And of course in with the herd, there are a substantial group who KNOW they can make their fortunes by bleading the suckers dry.

And again, for a saving of £30,00 a year (approx) due diligence on bats (endangered in Scoptland) will be watered down. Note - no redundancies amongst senior staff!

“It therefore appears that conservation of our native bat fauna is being axed in favour of controlling grouse shooting. Is that really NatureScot working for nature conservation in Scotland?” John Haddow (Bats team) said.

Haggis reinvented?

Macsween, Scotland’s largest haggis maker is creating a US “compliant” recipe. Will it be hit by tarrifs - another thing for USians to worry about?

https://www.macsween.co.uk/

Actually as a commercial mass market haggis they are not bad - and being veggies, their vegetarian option is always welcome when we have not had the time/arse to make one for parties. Home made ones will be deployed on Burns night however!
