Having a #pixelfed #wtf…

I can follow Pixelfed.social users from my Mastodon account, and they show up in my Home timeline. Super.

I also follow my own Pixelfed account, but only two of my five posts have ever shown up in my Mastodon timeline, and are the only ones listed if I navigate to my Pixelfed profile via Mastodon. It’s basically not picked up anything new since January 19.

I haven’t messed with privacy settings. It used to Just Work (yay, fediverse, cool) and now Just Doesn’t.

Have to be up stupidly early, so of course I’m wide awake. Of course.

Jumping on the #pixelfed bandwagon, not that I’ve ever got enough executive function to post anything there. But maybe!

Anyhoo, my URL is the highly memorable: https://pixelfed.social/i/web/profile/785722623118071315

Who amongst thee should I follow over there? (Or here, so that your there becomes part of my here. Whatever. Something something fediverse.)

Apparently my latest form of procrastination is taming my main email accounts. After declaring some bankruptcy on things I will never read, I’m down from ~2300 to just 146 unread, and one entire account has reached Inbox Zero™ status after I went ham on labeling and archiving.

Home from a lovely vacation and feeling ready to take on some Proper Adulting™ in my remaining week off from work... only to find that last night’s power blips appear to have killed our NAS. So much for today's Executive Function Points!

CLT is apparently some kind of absurdist circle of hell that got cut from an early draft of Inferno. 🛫⁉️

As much as I’ve maligned other airports in the past, CLT is rapidly rising on my shit list. What a friggin’ mess.

Coming into this 4-day weekend I imagined myself playing lots of BG3, assembling Lego kits, prepping for my D&D campaign, spending quality time with guitars, and other joy-bringing activities.

Instead, I’ve fallen into a pit of complete unmotivation, where I can’t seem to bring myself to do any of the things I allegedly enjoy. I have been sleeping in, having frustrating exercise experiences, and then doomscrolling, and tbqh I kind of wish I’d just been working instead.

This sucks.

Screened the newish 4K of The Abyss for the kiddo tonight. She was super into the first hour and spent the rest of the movie nonstop complaining. I feel like I’ve failed her as a parent.

(That said, it looked and sounded great, much much much better than that godawful non-anamorphic DVD release.)

Today my spouse graciously paid for my new car tires on her own card, rather than a shared one, as a nice surprise gift. I joked that “I guess 24 years is the ‘tired anniversary’” which elicited a sufficient level of laughter.

As I near the end of my “Album a Day” listening project, I need to own up to not doing the weekly recaps with more expanded thoughts on my blog as I’d intended to do. That’s fine; I’m gonna let that go. But: would it be interesting to post some highlights? Like “best totally new listens”, “best things I’d heard a million times before”, etc?

(Suggestions welcome.)

Somebody watched Andor and absolutely did not take away what they were supposed to. Will they blare alarms to signal when people need to get “on program”?

Today Apple Music offered me a variety of the best “Classic Rock” albums that sandwiched NIN’s The Downward Spiral in between Dark Side of the Moon and Revolver, and never have I felt quite so aged.

I should really figure out something to give a talk on. I feel like I’ve accumulated a lot that might be valuable, but not sure what the right framing/angle is or what hasn’t already been done, better, by someone else.
