i have done quite a lot of fiddling but only really to get emulation set up, one of my main jobs for this thing is emulating ps1/ps2-era consoles. also I wanted Kodi to play videos and watch twitch. for just playing steam, it really is awesome right out of the #bazzite box. but you can ssh in and fiddle around behind the scenes with flatpak and rpm-ostree if you want to. huge fan, great project. I love the device too, so far. will get some serious playing done on it a bit later...

today (bonus weekend edition #2):
- more setting up the new toy. it's an asus rog ally, if you didn't recognize it. It's like a steam deck, but more powerful (but slightly less battery), and it runs windows by default...but the first thing I did was blow it away and install the awesome #bazzite instead. It really is amazing: you run through a #fedora install process, and now you have a steam deck. I'm sponsoring https://github.com/sponsors/KyleGospo (lead dev) and you should too!

hmm, another annoying note on my new laptop: it seems #hp does not enable the Microsoft third party secure boot keys by default, has no simple option to enable them, and its "custom" secure boot key import option is so poorly documented I can find no trace on the internet of anyone ever having successfully used it. so your only option for using a non-Microsoft OS is to disable secure boot. this is not great, HP. no points.
@mjg59 did you know about this?
