[#]genuary29 - "Grid based graphic design"
An excuse to mess with bezier curves (which I am still really bad at thinking about from a programmatic perspective).
Started out with just plain sticky notes, but it's far funnier with nonsense written on them.

[#]genuary26 - "Symmetry"
I wanted to use some different variations of symmetry here, so there are agents that display symmetric behaviour as well as some more traditional reflective symmetry.
Agents are placed into groups of curvature, velocity, pattern, colour, and axis of symmetry. When one changes, all in the group change.

Lowering the cell count really makes the image ooze the heat haze. Really quite happy with how this turned out.

[#]genuary24 - "Geometric art"
We're in a heatwave in my part of Western Australia at the moment, it's the middle of summer, and in general we're in the "This Is Fine" end times, so this seemed apt.

[#]genuary23 - "Inspired by Brutalism"
I wanted to do something that felt a little bit like Habitat67 (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Habitat_67) with a blocky structure nestled into the greenery.
Lack of any implied depth on the blocks is semi-intentional π

[#]genuary22 - "Gradients only"
In my head I called this "descent into madness". Each point is generated with a movement vector, and the gradient of that initial vector determines the initial hue as well as the noisiness of the path.

[#]genuary20 - "Generative Architecture"
Every year there seems to be an architecture related prompt, and I really dislike them, and skip the day.
This year I took a different angle and thought about different natural architects.

Probably a missed opportunity to find some nice second hand patterns and make "op shop art".

[#]genuary19 - "Op Art"
Is this really op art? Maybe not.
A layer of Truchet with a hefty seasoning of blend modes and overlaid shapes and visual chaos.

[#]genuary18 - "What does wind look like?"
It most definitely does not look like my very dodgy physics approximation of a pendulum filled with sand or paint being blown around, but it was still fun?
The stack on the left is the paint getting consumed as the bob moves, with wind direction in the bottom right.

[#]genuary16 - "Generative palette"
Looked better in my head than in execution (particularly the fractal, that I ended up doing some selective branching on in order to not just making it all outlines).

[#]genuary15 - "Design a rug"
So folks, textiles are nice and all and I'm sure people will make some lovely rug patterns, but, what about toupees?!
So much fun making this one!

Took a bit of a break for today's with this simple one, using overlapping circles of different sizes with a DIFFERENCE blend mode.

[#]genuary13 - "Only triangles"
Except I guess the triangles are only by implication?
Not super satisfied with this one.
On a tangent, while I was making this, my wife was playing http://www.thegeniusstar.com/ which is only triangles!

[#]genuary12 - "Subdivision"
Started out thinking about geometry subdivision, decided I didn't want to do it, remembered I've been driving past lots of demolished lots with 4 or 5 For Sale signs on them recently, thought about housing and streets instead.
The lakes are bad, the houses are bad, but π€·ββοΈ

[#]genuary10 - "Use only TAU"
Definitely a vibes-based attempt - there are many numbers that are not strictly TAU hereπ
TAU is the ratio of radius to circumference, so every circle (bar the background one) chooses a point on its edge and creates a tangent of the length of its circumference. A new circle is drawn there.
The radius of each circle is chosen by pulling 2 or 3 digits from a ring buffer comprised of p5js' approximation of TAU.

[#]genuary9 - "Textile design of public transport seating"
This one was pretty fun, playing around with blend modes and masking drawn shapes to get a nice crunchy texture.
Feel mostly drawn from the image in https://www.commercialrealestate.com.au/news/why-public-transport-has-such-brightly-coloured-seats-30068/

[#]genuary8 "Draw 1,000,000 of something"
Draw one 8x8 tile, repeat it 10,000 times over an 800x800 canvas, then animate by rotating and resizing the tiles for 100 frames.
I stuffed up the looping and didn't get around to fixing it though :(
