I see lots of posts on #GlobalSwitchDay, which is great. For those who aren't on the fediverse yet though it remains often daunting. I know there are various tutorials etc floating around, but is there a single simple link collection to these which could go with the graphics? Not to worry if not, I just don't have spoons left today to go searching and wondered if anyone maybe knew.

Like many others, I read about #NewYearBingo on here recently and really liked the idea. But I can't find the original toot! They had a whole bunch of suggestions, and there was a really interesting discussion in the replies... Anyone know who that was?

It's definitely not working out, I'm at the crown shaping stage and there's no way for that to somehow untwist. I think I need to actually knit a sample (what??) to figure out how to get from Moebius to straight!

I'm working my way through a Moebius hat (https://store.vogueknitting.com/product/mobius-hat/), but I don't think it's gonna work out. The Moebius part is straight forward, but I have doubts about the switch from that to the rest of the hat. I'm soldering on but with every round I'm more certain I'll have to frog the project...

Surrounded by blue and great tits, a goldcrest, wren, and dunnocks on the terrace this morning. It's been near freezing at night for a couple of weeks, but the hedgehog is still busily trotting backwards and forwards. Nearly walked into a hare in the garden yesterday.

Evacuations and flood mitigation preparations continue, as whole regions in central Europe now expect peak flood waves. Knocks on the door in the middle of the night - the water is close, please evacuate. Elsewhere, clean-up begins.

I can only imagine how exhausted everyone is. It's not over yet.

The situation in central Europe remains difficult for those in flooded or at risk regions. In many places, final or peak waves of flooding are not expected until later this week. It's not yet over.

How we're in year 4 of this pandemic and still don't understand or act on the importance of good indoor air quality in schools and workplaces is beyond me.
