Starting from #Python 3.13 the CLI prompt is colored purple, which doesn't play well with my terminal's colours, so I decided to at least change the colour of the prompt of my pm (Python Math) alias:

alias pm='python3 -qic"from math import *; import sys; sys.ps1="\033[1;32m] \033[0m"; sys.ps2="\033[1;32m… \033[0m""'

A similar approach is with the PYTHONSTARTUP env variable that points to a file (q.v.). That 1;32 is bold green, but you can easily find all other ANSI codes.

I deactivated my #X account (that I hadn't used in more than 1 year and was already void of follows) as soon as I could, after seeing the Roman salute – or rather Hitlergruß – of #Musk.

BTW, the black background of X is appropriate: the colour of death, and in Italy (where I live) also the colour of fascism.

Sarà perché mio padre, che era agnostico come me, faceva di mestiere delle bellissime vetrate per le chiese, ma io tre quarti delle @ChieseBrutte non le trovo affatto brutte. Non per questo belle, ma insomma... Immaginate di dovere progettare una chiesa, una chiesa reale, poi ne riparliamo.

Today I fell flat on my face, broke a tooth, and had several aching places in my body. Went to the ER, where I got a thorough visit, a medical ultrasound and a CT scan, all for free (yes, dear friends in the US), plus, since I was going to the office, a piece of paper by which the national insurance for accidents at work will pay for most of the repair of my tooth. On top of this, all doctors that visited me were very nice. I felt very lucky in the disgrace.

Can we have an option in #Python, something similar to JavaScript's "use strict", that makes looping on a dict illegal? I keep writing

for k, v in dct instead of dct.items().

I hope there will be a Python 4 one day, where the iterator of a dict will return key-value pairs instead of keys alone (yes, I know the porting would be a nightmare, but Sweden didn't regret switching from driving on the left-hand side of the road to the right in 1967).
