[#]ArtAdventCalendar #day12 A very poor colour drawing of a family member - looks nothing like them, but at least it looks vaguely like a person.

Missed yesterday so a double today from a few years ago. My husband got me a paint by numbers squirrel with lots of bright colours for Christmas so I printed off an outline of a deer and a penguin then filled them in the style of StevenArt Highland cows. Was a bit of fun in the holidays.

[#]ArtAdventCalendar #day9 Todays picture is a sketch of a lily of the valley in memory of my mum. Every year I would buy her a little something at Christmas with this scent. I still miss her a lot even 8 years on.

Just filling up with petrol today - worked out it costs me around £5 return trip to Dundee in the car. Cost to get the bus return £8.50, and they only run every hour. Single is £4.60. No incentive to use public transport. This is the problem.

Reading the news about how the government are planning to increase employers NI my thought is how will this affect the public sector? This money to go back to the treasury will also have to come out of public sector which may just recirculate some, but also hits local council budgets, GP practices etc. Will they increase this funding to cover the increased cost? #NIincrease #ukbudget

I don’t get the attitude of western governments. How can they support Israel’s right to defend itself, but not Lebanon’s? How can the air strikes on Beirut be anything but warmongering and against international law? Why does that differ so much from Russia invading Ukraine? I get that Hezbollah are firing from within Lebanon, but you can’t stop “terrorism” with war, only diplomacy, and peace can only come with peaceful negotiations.
