The design was modified from LianTze Lim's fantastic calendar template https://tex.my/category/calendar/ which made creating this calendar really easy.

The 2024 version of the Great Tikzlings Christmas Extravaganza has just been released. It presents mariachi marmots and flower power in San Francisco, has a look at the @TeXUsersGroup Annual Conference 2025, reports on the LaTeX tagging project, takes a foto at a well known location, discovers the hitherto unknown Batbär, and contains many other Christmas surprises. Watch it now on Vimeo

The update of the TikZlings package to version 2.0 is also the conclusion of another project: to use a consistent design for all my package documentations.

The new version 2.0 of the TikZlings package makes its way around the ctan mirrors (https://ctan.org/pkg/tikzlings). It brings two new TikZlings, Sandra the ape and Ambrogio the meerkat. Many thanks to @NuzzleTOO and @CarLaTeX for contributing them!

Note: v2.0 contains a none backward compatible change regarding the reference point of the body colour. If you've used the body=... option in the past, the resulting TikZlings might now have a slightly different colour.

The sans-serif font "Inter" seems to have some coding ligatures:

Does anybody know a proportional font which has coding ligatures, e.g. -> becomes a right arrow?

There are many mono-spaced fonts with coding ligatures available, like JetBrains Mono, but for note taking, I would prefer a proportional font.

Still thinking about the tram network talk by @ada at #baytex2024 . Maybe the tikz-nfold library could be useful to draw parallel lines. Modified from the doc, p. 7

\documentclass[tikz]{standalone}

\usetikzlibrary{nfold}

\begin{document}

\tikz[line width=1mm]{

\path[save path=\mypath] (0,0) -- (2,0) arc(-90:90:1)

to[out=180, in=0] (0,1);

\foreach \mycolor [count=\i] in {red,green}

\pgfoffsetpathindex{\mypath}{6pt}{\i}{4}

\color{\mycolor} \pgfusepathqstroke;

}

\end{document}

Ms Duck has a lovely day out at #baytex2024, the Bavarian #TexLatex user meeting in Neu-Ulm. She made a new friend: \tiny duck, thanks to @TeXhackse
