BREAKING: 🇬🇧UK’s competition regulator launches investigations into if Apple and Google have strategic market status in mobile ecosystems, including operating systems, app stores and mobile browsers.
This is under the newly passed Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act which came into force on January 1, 2025. The investigations include a significant focus on web apps, browser engines and browsers in relation to both Apple and Google.
