The first "JavaFX In Action" interview of 2025 is live! With Hydraulic Software, Mike Hearn solves a problem many developers struggle with: efficiently distributing your application and ensuring the users get the latest version. With #Conveyor, he created a tool to easily create an installer for #JavaFX, #Electron, and #Flutter apps!

I (finally) started experimenting with @homeassistant during the holiday break and WOW! What a marvelous piece of software and OS. After a few hours (probably days by now 😉) of fiddling, I have a Raspberry Pi 5 as my central hub, connecting many things in my house and even the car! And by adding a Mosquito queue into it, it became even more powerful to connect it to other tools I'm building and using.
Great community work! Thanks a lot!!!

On Tuesday, the 14th of January, I will be virtually traveling to the Miami #JVM Group (#JUG, Java User Group): "Introduction to @pi4j (#JavaOnRaspberryPi)." Will you join me?
We'll have some fun with electronic components and displays with a Spring app.

I created a small #Java application on a Raspberry Pi Zero 1 to turn it into a controllable HDMI camera. I use such cameras in my setup with an ATEM Mini video switcher. This allows me to have four different inputs for a very affordable price to create videos, tutorials, etc. The Java application has an API, making changing the zoom level of these Raspberry Pi cameras very easy.

Roberto Marquez created a #JavaFX app to visualize temperature and humidity measurements with my LED display library. What a great start to the year to see one of my creations "in the wild." ;-)

Building a #JavaFX app is easy and fun, but how do you efficiently distribute it to different systems? #jpackage and #GraalVM can help, but #jDeploy makes things even more effortless by handling all the packaging and providing an upgrading flow! In this "JFX In Action" interview, you'll learn how this works from Steve Hannah, the creator of jDeploy.
