There's clearly something about the #pixelfed UI that either encourages, or automatically produces all these atrociously formatted posts. The native UI for it put the image upfront and hides all the text, but by the time they get into a #mastodon client they are just annoying (regardless of how good the photos are)

There seem to be a lot of bots on pixelfed.social. Not only are they producing some poorly formatted posts (too many hashtags, not on the final line, no camel case, and while I'm not a zealot about it... no alt-text), they are absolutely spamming like crazy.

Perhaps they should join the shafted-by-AI-start-up-anonymous support group attended by photographers, painters,graphic designers, musicians, writers, copy writers, script writers, programmers, and (soon) videographers?

Just read the story on @petapixel about Light Lens Labs working on film emulsions.i reckon they must be partnering with someone (Lucky?) to do actual coating. Building a coating line at scale today would be outright stupid.
But also, if you're going t-grain B&W, why target ecn? Details seem odd.

Not that I'm particularly prudish about these things. If you look far enough back on my TL and insta you'll see all my old life drawing stuff
There's at least one top notch photographer on here that most does nudes that I really like. No content warning either, but the are mostly abstracts, and definitely not crass.
"1990's-ish grumpy young woman with boob out" just isn't my jam.

Lots of nudity on the film photography hash tags lates, without content warnings. Annoying having to mute individual accounts. At some point I'll just have to unfollow the tags.

part 3 of Klemperer's diary is The Lesser Evil, and covers his later life in east germany. It's an interesting insight into life in the USSR for a mid-level bureaucrat, but it's long and, for obvious reasons (blessedly so for Viktor), is not nearly as compelling to read.

Since it's Holocaust Memorial Day, two of the most powerful books I've ever read (technically 3)...
I Shall Bear Witness, and Vol2 To the Bitter End, by Viktor Klemperer. Covers the lead up to the war, and his time in the camps. It's a detailed, and beautifully written diary, and includes the terrifyingly mundane reality of 1930s germany for the Jewish population, to the abject horror and degradation of the camps.
If This is a Man by Primo Levi is angry, raw and heart breaking.

there seems to be a strong chance that the "forced follows" is /probably/ people that were following the various POTUS accounts and are a bit confused.
The instagram search thing is genuinely insidious. The democrat related hashtags are effectively marked as poltical (fine), but the rnc and republican ones are not, and it's hard to imagine that's an accidental oversite.

OK, so I am usually skeptical of these things, but I just tried searching instagram for #democrat and #dnc, and sure enough, 0 results (the republican and rnc both have millions of hits).
If accounts being force to follow Trump and Vance, that is exteremely fucked up.
