At #emfcamp I was tasked with sticking together the slides for the lightning talks for ease of speaker changeover. One of the talks had about 150 slides, that's 1 every 2 seconds for a 5 minute talk! Surely a mistake, I thought.

I've just seen the result and it's great, high density, stuff:

As part of my de-musking process, I've added a final update to my write up of Twitbeeb, my BBC B that talks to Twitter project that had been around since 2012. Update includes the events of #emfcamp 2018 and 2020 (?). https://barnoid.org.uk/twitbeeb/

My site is a Hugo generated. I created my own embedded tweet shortcode, then adapted Tweet2Embed to scan my markdown files for that, generate an HTML snippet for the tweets, and write them to a directory in the post. The shortcode just includes the appropriate snippet.

I've been working on de-musking myself. My website is the tricky bit as I've documented several of my Twitter-based projects there with many embedded tweets. Luckily @Edent came to the rescue: https://github.com/edent/Tweet2Embed

And I'm doing it again with current tools to compare the results. https://github.com/NaNoGenMo/2024/issues/14 #nanogenmo

The book is full of great examples of generative text (and Tay) from many talented people. Very glad to have my nonsense in among them.

In the UK this is a good place to get a copy: https://www.hive.co.uk/Product/Lillian-Yvonne-Bertram/Output--An-Anthology-of-Computer-Generated-Text-19532023/30366365

For #nanogenmo 2016 I attempted to generate a novelisation of A.I. Artificial Intelligence by using an AI image captioner on 5036 stills from the film. https://barnoid.org.uk/ai_ai_by_an_ai/

Today an excerpt from the resulting novel is published in Output: An Anthology of Computer-Generated Text 1953-2023 https://mitpress.mit.edu/9780262549813/output/

Doing my Duolingo and wondering why I immediately recognised the French for "one more time". Oh right, the 1990s https://youtube.com/watch?v=qz2bOXLEvuE
