This world could be a much better place to live if we were less nice to people who behave like absolute pieces of shit. And I'm not talking about raising prison sentences or death penalty, just having the courage to call out blatant misbehaviour when presented with it. We are all complicit when we tolerate certains kinds of behaviour. It's seldom "not my problem".

I am more and more convinced that the EU will not resist disintegration unless it implements some form of technological protectionism. This includes getting rid once and for all of the pretend data privacy agreement with the US. American Big Tech reigns undisturbed while European players face an uneven playing field. FAANG has access to an unprecedented amount of information about every European citizen and unashamedly meddles in the internal affairs of member states. This is not sustainable. Digital sovereignty is now more important than ever, and that cannot be attained as long as our politicians and CEOs remain in the pocket of American Big Tech.

I bought a humidifier, a Levoit LV500S. The thing has WiFi connectivity, which obviously only works if you install their own shit app. So, I got it from the Play Store (it's called VeSync), installed it, paired with the device, and right after setting the WiFi password, it complains that it doesn't manage to connect to their cloud service and then tells me that the way to fix this is TO CHANGE MY ROUTER'S DNS TO 8.8.8.8. WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK? #internetofshit #levoit #iotfail
