blogged about deepseek: i am not sure that small models on everyone's computer is a good thing, but if LLMs are gonna be forced down our throats either way this seems a lot better than giving sam altman a monopoly on them

i have started another hundred days project but this time i'm blogging. i wrote about why roko's basilisk is stupid, a project i did back in august, and how "agentic" ai isn't really much of anything right now https://blog.bront.rodeo/making-a-reverse-rokos-basilisk/

pretty good breakdown from @cwebber if you, like me, have no plans to read the ATProto whitepaper. tl;dr: bluesky's not really decentralized, but also that's not really the problem it's solving for.

still working out a couple build kinks, but the game i've been making on and off for the past year is available to the public! it's a short visual novel about data labelers, AI, labor, and space aliens. would love for you to play it. https://hellagrapes.itch.io/dataville

like, sure, you shouldn't say yes to everything, only so many hours in the day, but if you limit yourself to only things you already like you will become an extraordinarily boring person
