If you want more than 1600 pics of Japan, I just posted my gallery last night. Landscapes, architecture, street photography, cars, computers, video games... you name it, I shot it. https://www.dvincentphotography.com/Travel/Japan-2024

I haven't been posting here as much. Not because I don't want to, but the vast majority of stuff has been Japan trip and I think most people here are following for vintage computer stuff. I've been posting and texting in so many places and without being able to easily duplicate posts on a PC doing cross-posting here and on bsky is kind of a pain.

I need to look into a cross-posting app.

Lunch on JAL 7. Beef over rice, udon noodles, fruit salad, corn salad, beef and potato side, miso soup, and strawberry ice cream. JAL gives you real silverware because they have taste.

@mejs If you're looking for a Mavica charger/battery combo, I can confirm the batteries I got in this one don't stick in my FD75 or FD100 that I picked up. The FD75 is a little tighter than the FD100 but the eject mechanism pushes it out far enough to grab and pull. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B078NRLSKL

The VHS tape, torx driver, and all the documentation are missing :( The box was still sealed with the original seals. Maybe they didn’t include those in PAL regions or they had a service-only special? Alas. But the board is there along with an upgrade badge and a new riser support bracket.

After six-ish months from discovery, this ALR Sequel 586 Pentium upgrade board for Compaq ProLineas has made its way to my doorstep. Big thanks go out to my friend Perry (and her Swiss friend) for helping get this to me via some Swiss auction site. Now to rip that VHS and post it online.

About half done assembling a rough cut of the VCF Midwest video. The estimated length is around 64 minutes. That wasn't intentional, but it does seem appropriate.

Recorded the VCF Midwest video narration tonight. Editing it tomorrow night and then video starts over the weekend. I have a hunch this'll be about an hour long.

I'm pretty sure someone at Savers decided that PC CD-ROM games are "worth something" now because I've seen a rash of jewel case (not Big Box) games getting put on shelves for higher prices lately. Serious Sam 2nd Encounter for $16? Star Wars 3D Rogue Squadron for $10? A WarCraft II with no liners for $8? C’mon.
