If I wanted to play COVID roulette it wouldn't be to help children at a summer camp. No chance in hell. It would be at tech conferences networking to find work. Why the hell would I risk COVID to be around other peoples' children? I can't think of anything more depressing and mentally unsound. The pandemic broke me.

It is absurd for Drumpf and Skum to attack ATC workers because they fly an enormous amount. If flying is not safe they put themselves at risk. They should want to strive to keep the FAA functional. This is self harm.

Thought of the day. Europe, the US and Eastern Europe are not in danger because of free speech as such, but because of the free flow of disinformation without any checks and balances in place to stop it. Brexit and Trump thrive on disinformation. Democracy is at risk because we can't hold those spreading disinformation to account. The Fourth estate was bought by the Right, and the Right wants to spread disinformation in order to get into power.

I can tell I'm old because I remember a time when we had choice rather than monopolies. Some think, "Oh deepwhatsit is competing with catIfarted" and that's true, but they're not mutually exclusive. They can both co-exist quite happily, without having a monopoly. I come from the pre-monopoly age of the World Wide Web.
