Yeah, I'm making a sheet pan dinner. Chicken strips, tater tots, and frozen pizza. 👍

I think I fixed my Breville toaster oven today. 42 screws to expose the power board and the back of the control board, but at least it's accessible!

I knew that tapping in the right spot would sometimes make it work, so I carefully replicated that across the board. I eventually isolated the problem in a relay that had a bad solder joint, a short to ground, or both. Resoldered and added a piece of shrink tube as an insulator. So far, it works!

Hey #CloudStorage users out there: Is there a good non-FAANG+MS service that offers SFTP to cloud storage as a service?

From what I can tell, neither Proton nor NextCloud offer SFTP.

Where does construction waste go in Massachusetts now that there are no active landfills?

Boston Building Resources reuse center did some research to find out:

Does anyone in my network know of a reliable and reasonable attorney familiar with name & gender indicator changes in Massachusetts? Firsthand recommendations only, please; I can Google. 🙃

Any #MaslowCNC folks out there with a good controller/sender that runs on Linux?

There are a ton of forks of WebControl, Ground Control, jscnc, and Makerverse out there for Windows, Mac, And RasPi, but none that I've found that will work on Linux (Ubuntu in our case), and none that seem to have been maintained within the last couple of years.

I'm rebuilding some surplus laptops for @hiveboston to run a legacy Maslow and some other machines, and I've just hit a wall.

Oh noes! @lolscotus bot is now reporting every time it does NOT find a laugh in a SCOTUS transcript! This is going to become tedious!

Anyone at @TheGuardian_us planning to start a Mastodon server to replace the (wisely) discontinued Twitter accounts?

"Guardian will no longer post on Elon Musk’s X from its official accounts"

Our Three Sisters plot of about 15' x 20' of corn, beans, and squash ended up yielding about 1 lb 2 oz of dried black beans (var. Trail of Tears)! Not too shabby for our first year. It also gave us one solid meal's worth of green beans back in September. (And the kiddos discovered that shelling dried beans is strangely satisfying!) #gardening

If you work in the federal space, for an agency or a contractor, please take the time to archive whatever you can before things change. So much data and public-facing literature was taken offline last time. Archive it now, and we'll figure out how to distribute and share later.if we need it.

I rarely shill stuff here, but I've been reading and using recipes from https://thewoksoflife.com/ for a few years, and both the writing and the recipes are really good. I particularly like the beef & broccoli, boneless spareribs, and Singapore noodles. Enjoy!

I'm thinking about trying to keep our 0.16" (4mm) twinwall polycarbonate greenhouse warm this fall and winter, but I'd like to do it as efficiently (read: cheaply) as possible. Any suggestions from the #gardening and #greenhouse crowd here?

Ideas I've considered: lots of heating mats, chicken coop heater, aluminum can solar collector, adding thermal mass (water? Concrete? Stone?), dragons

Someone stole one of our political signs from the front yard. We know it wasn't the wind because they took the whole wire stand with it and had to move a 20lb rock to do so. 🙄
