[#]Hobart was an impressive combination of contrasts. Sleepy seaside town and its historical cottages and you can almost see the hands that built them and you see the old timey ships and boats, the customs house. There was always a cool breeze here even though it was summer, always a smiling face to greet you. I can't help but think of the people who disappeared here, too.

It was a rainy day. That wasn't a bad thing. The rain washed away some grief and put things in a different light.

I broke open last year. I was depressed and burned out and it took, in part, meeting a fellow neurodivergent man to finally recognise myself. By now I got diagnosed and I'm still learning to see myself, to let myself be and I'm carefully, slowly stepping towards being my fuller, realer self. I went to Australia for 6 weeks and here's a picture of a fern from a hike in the rainforest. I had a wonderful time, except for when I got leeched.

We had some moments, Brisbane and I, since I returned. Dramatic weather and dramatic skies are no rarity here. Warm evenings and smiling faces. Not a bad place at all, this city, my old love.

I buried a lot of demons of the last few decades and some of them were sleeping in Brisbane. It's been quite an emotional ride coming back to this city and I'm glad I finally did. This photo doesn't super represent Brisbane, but it was a beautiful moment after the rain that just caught me here.

We found an old Swiss-Italian farm in the Mt Macedon region in Victoria which has recently been refurbished and is now a beautiful lavendar farm to visit. This isn't representative of the farm and the thoughts and feelings that surround it, but it was a little magical moment that I caught for myself.

I always loved the multicultural landscape in Australia, all the neighborhoods built by so many different people. But you can't talk about that without also acknowledging the cruelty towards aboriginal people which is ongoing and far from being solved. There is no place without a history of oppression against a people, but every place is also made up of the people that live there and the things they create. Can't live without these opposites apparently.

I came across this quote the other day: If you look for a meaning, you miss everything that happens.
Waiting places, waiting at an airport can become an opportunity rather than a nuisance. Looking for little moments, there's always an opportunity to find something.

Hi everyone. 2024 was a rough year. I have spent a very healing month in Australia. First Melbourne and then one of my old homes, Brisbane. How are you at the beginning of this year?

[#]Mythology tells us that death is a part of the #HerosJourney We are #nature. We go through cycles. I look back at some of this year's photos and this one might as well be a lifetime ago. Some moments from the past year seem so close, never fading. Others area already far away. I haven't had much time for my #photography in the past few months, but I'm looking forward to another prolonged journey overseas by the end of next week and the #creative introspection with it.

An eventful year is slowly fading from autumn into winter. Leaves are falling, shedding the old, feels like death a little but it's really quite the opposite. The core full of life remains as the temporary comes and goes and eventually comes back again.

Just posting outtakes lately. When time allows, I go through my photos in the morning as a primer. I discovered this one which I hadn't done anything with because I didn't like it. The imperfect petal I found too prominent, I had completely messed up the exposure, colour and everything. But I looked at it now and enjoyed the contrast and colour anyway.
Practicing a bit of openness today.
