My homelab just grow from 1 to 2 proxmox nodes. Because why not. Old laptops deserve long life.

But I almost went crazy. After installation of 2nd node I could login only locally, but not via web UI and SSH.

After an hour or so I figured out that I was entering the wrong password (via Web UI) BECAUSE THE 'A' KEY DOESN'T WORK ON THE 2nd PC.

Then I changed the password locally so now it doesn't include 'a'.

My level of stupidity just ++ed.

Sometimes I feel soo dumb in relation to Linux it hurts.

[#]TIL scp works both ways. I always thought when using command "scp source target" the source must be local, the target must be some other server.

But no. It can be vice-versa. Source can be remote and target can be local.

It saved me a lot of hassle today.

While #turnkey server templates for #proxmox are nice and easy to set up for lazy people like me, the servers are pita to update or am I just a poor amateur that has no clue.

After several hours trying to update one, I said f**ck it and set up a new server from scratch in less than an hour.

Cut corners first, suffer later they said.

The funny thing about translucent #PETG is when I reduce the quality (increase layer height) it prints better.

The worst results were @ 0.1, the best @ 0.4mm.

The surface is rougher, but more light comes through and less stringing.

Anybody knows how many BLE devices (in advertisement mode) can ESP32 (ESPHome, platform: atc_mithermometer) track?

I read somewhere 6, but I already have 12 Xiaomi Mi sensors and it works ok.

My #homeautomation journey started 4 yrs ago when I bought 1 Aqara #zigbee hub, 1 room temp. sensor and 1 smart socket (for controling the heating of the office).

The state today:

24 zigbee devices

10 BLE devices

6 esp32 wifi devices

2 other wifi devices

40 automations

1400 entities in #homeassistant

And I feel I didn't even scratched the surface.
