I should have waited to write my last blog post about komorebi license sales, because they just hit $1000 in revenue!! 🎉 🎉 🎉

I am cautiously optimistic about the future of educational source software that is free for personal use, offers a paid license for commercial use, and respects the privacy of commercial license users by not forcing any kind of phone-home license validity checks

@mattkotsenas I'm curious what the reaction of your colleagues is when they see your desktop - when komorebi is mentioned in more traditional Windows spaces online there is a sense "but why would you even want this?" in the reactions - I wonder if the vibe is similar within MS 👀

I will never understand why it never got more love - komorebi is cool, but hardly unique, while there is truly nothing else in existence like Kullish

If you saw issues with komorebi's borders not updating when changing focus, I finally figured out it's because komorebi actually tracks changed focus faster than the OS, and tries to update the border colors before the Windows API knows that the focused HWND has changed

My most downvoted comment on #hackernews this week was saying that paywalling access is the most effective way to stop web crawlers hammering my aggregation web service and driving my costs up

Good rule of thumb - if HackerNews commenters downvote an approach to prevent exploitation by large corporations, it's probably a great approach
