https://heritageireland.ie/learn/newgrange-winter-solstice/

For folk who enjoy (trying) to see the sunrise on Winter solstice at Knowth New Grange in the valley of the River Boyne it will be broadcast on the internet from 08.40UTC tomorrow morning.

I would have tried to type the name Bruinne na Boinn but am sure if Autocorrect will mangle it more than my typing it.

It's a wonderful thing to see is the solstice sunrise at New Grange.

On this day in 1901 prominent Welsh politician David Lloyd George's appearance at Birmingham Town Hall led to a major riot both within the Town Hall and outside. One member of the public was killed outside when the police tried to restore order.

Lloyd George was to speak against the Boer War in South Africa, against the policy then being prosecuted by Joseph Chamberlain (MP for the city and former highly respected, dynamic and loved Mayor who had driven the late Victorian improvement of Brum).

I have discovered that the Bridgyfed thingy picks up hashtagged posts by Bridgyfed users on Bsky even when I do NOT currently follow them myself.

Another arrow in bridgyfed's quiver.

Thank you, snow.

Once in a while (today was a day) I get a feeling my YouTube "suggested" videos are bossing me about:

"Do do this!"

"Worst thing you could ever do!"

So blocked the lot.

Much calmer now.

Made my final visit for the year to #KiftsgateCourtGarden as it closed tonight for the winter.

Reopens at the beginning of April, when hopefully I can buy my season ticket. My 4th season ticket iirc.

Took the opportunity to buy more plants ... more in hope than expectation I fear ... mainly Euphorbia but also some bargain basement plants. They have to be things that don't get eaten. Not by me. But by "visitors" who, in themselves are lovely.

Just not eating my plants lovely!
