Good Moo everyone! I tried to take a photo of Ziggy this morning, but she was having none of it, so I offer this extreme closeup instead that I managed to capture just before the phone was wrestled from me and "frown to the fwoor" π She's in her cage eating breakfast now, as are the rest of the Crew.
On workday evenings Grant gets home after the parrots go to roost so usually we all sit and watch some council telly together. Game shows, that sort of thing, as it's not possible to concentrate on anything when you are single handedly keeping an eye on three parrots. Last night, due to all the channels showing one thing, we were forced to watch indoor lawn bowls. It was actually very calming and may now be my favourite sport π Those guys are seriously competitive too!
Work today. Oodles of meetings on the cards.

Good morning you lovely lot π I'm playing Upstairs Ninja today as Grant and the parrots snooze downstairs, but I'm not doing very well at it today, having tripped over my own feet when getting out of bed and almost sprawling all over the floor π Luckily it doesn't seem to have disturbed the Crew. I spent yesterday afternoon replacing their rope perches with new ones, which took a couple of hours for three cages. The rope perches are great, but they do fray over time and eventually, no matter how much you scrub them, they don't clean up properly, so they need to be completely replaced from time to time.
Work today. First day of officially working for the new company, so no doubt there will be a pile of emails to deal with so I's best get on with it.

Good morning Fellow Travellers around the Sun π I've just finished a cuddle session with Ziggy that ended with us playing "Where's Ziggy?" and her curling up under my cardigan and dosing off for a few minutes π It's humbling how much trust she puts in me, given that she's a prey animal and it's her instinct to always be wary. It touches my heart β€οΈ Toby had an excellent fly around the room last night after Zigs startled him from the top of the cage. He managed two full circles, didn't bang into anything and gave a loud and proud "Wow!" upon landing π He wasn't a great flyer when we got him -he'd had his wings clipped when he was young and never really had the opportunity to use them after that - but he's improving daily.
Sunday chores and then crochet for me today. I may start season 2 of Severance.

Good morning everyone π I've just finished the usual parrot cage cleaning, food prep and Ziggy cuddle and the Crew are all munching breakfast happily now. I think I have figured out Ziggy's refusal to take her meds mix with me in the morning. I was confused as to why Grant, who doesn't let her out in the morning, has no issue with it, while I did. Apparently, according to Ziggy, the rule is that sitting with Mum and eating her meds in the evening is fine, but meds must be delivered at the cage in the morning π I took her over and she sat on the cage door and happily consumed the lot, whereas moments before she was nipping at me for offering it to her. Parrots eh? π€
Gaming day today. Still playing my beloved DAO. We picked up Shale recently so may head to Orzammar and the Deep Roads today, or maybe the Forest first. We'll see how it plays out.

Good morning Fellow Travellers on Spaceship Earth π I'm just awoken from a long lie as Grant is planning to go birding today and got up for the parrots. It's still dark though - January is such a dark month! - so he's still pottering around while I have my first coffee with the Crew and Classic FM Calm. Ziggy is grumbling away contentedly as she preens herself under her cotton arch that is also her "bed". She will also pull the cotton strands until they are in tatters so we have to replace her arch every few months. Toby is alternating between making clicking noises and occasionally screeching at me with that ear shattering shriek of his. Hopefully he calms down π Jadie, content wee girl, is playing with her toys as usual.
I finished the first custom crochet toy order yesterday so I'm going to start working on the second today and probably watch stuff.

Some of the Kids' drawings toys I am asked to make are just a riot of colour and imagination π This recent make is a good example of that. It's supposed to be all one creature, but I worked the pieces separately and joined them via little crochet loops so that the wee boy could play with them individually if he wanted to.

Good morning fellow Travellers on the Galactic Spiral Arm π Today I am up with the birds, literally, and I have just popped Ziggy into her cage after a very fun-filled session with her in which we played "Where's Ziggy?" and her new variation, in which she climbs up under my armpit, nips the soft flesh to make me straighten my arm, then runs down the inside of my cardigan sleeve, pops her head out at the wrist and yells "Ceekaboo!" π I never fail to be amazed at just how clever she is.
Fresh chop to make for the parrots this morning and then I'm hoping to finish the custom crochet toy order that came in last week and start on the new one. This one is for a little girl's tenth birthday. She has given me detailed written instructions so I have to make sure I get it right π She is also teaching herself to crochet, which just warms my heart to hear.

Good morning you lovely lot π I am playing Upstairs Ninja again today as Grant and the parrots snooze downstairs. I heard a bit of squawking earlier, but Grant must be getting the hang of making sure Ziggy gets her meds mix quickly as I soon heard a cheerful "Good!" π
I'm a little achy this morning, probably from having to walk from the hospital overflow car park yesterday and then my inglorious slide down a hill on the way back that left me covered in mud from head to toe and my dignity in tatters π I used to roll down hills just for fun when I was younger, but I thought my Jill days were behind me π
A strange work day today as my laptop is being reinstalled later remotely. We were taken over my another company a year or so ago and this month we're formally moving over. Hopefully, it all goes according to plan!

Good morning everyone π» I'm up with the parrots today and have just taken Madame Ziggy back to her cage for breakfast after a nice long cuddle, spoiled slightly by her then plucking out a new feather and nipping me in the face, because obviously it was my fault that it hurt π₯΄ I do not know what causes her to suddenly pluck, but it can happen even when she is nice and relaxed, like this morning. It always vexes me that a parrot like Ziggy, who has always been well loved and cared for, is a plucker, while Jadie, who was terribly neglected over a number of years, is not. I honestly think it's down to bird personality though. Zigs is fierce and funny, but also very anxious and high strung, while Jadie is laid back and calm.
Work today, but another custom crochet order came in last night so the latter part of the week is sorted βΊοΈ

Good morning everyone from your friendly Upstairs Ninja who is just getting ready for work as Grant and the Crew snooze downstairs. It wasn't particularly noisy this morning with only a limited amount of indignant screeching from Ziggy, which means Grant must have been on the ball getting her meds mix to her today π I have also been especially Ninja-like this morning so have not caused any disturbance in the Force like dropping my phone on the floor, which is a fairly regular occurrence for me π
Work today then and more of the usual. The client meeting I normally host on a Monday has now been moved to a Tuesday so at least I don't have to deal with that first thing in the week anymore.

Good morning Fellow Travellers around the Sun π I've just finished the morning cuddle session with Ziggy, who did take her mash/meds mix this morning after I tried the old "pretending to eat from the spoon and making om nom nom noises" trick βΊοΈ Whether this will fool her tomorrow is another thing of course, but Grant is doing parrot duty tomorrow morning and she normally doesn't give him any trouble, so we'll see how it goes. I have baby food pouches in reserve if required. She's fussy about those though (of course she is π₯΄) and it has to be the strawberry and apple variety.
The usual Sunday chores today and then I'll work on the custom crochet toy and watch something. I had a lovely time playing DAO yesterday. We didn't make it to Orzammar, but sorted out Soldier's Peak instead after finding the Urn of Sacred Ashes.

Good morning everyone π I'm up with the parrots again this morning and have just put Ziggy in for her breakfast after a lovely long cuddle with her. Madame is refusing to take her medication this morning though. I ended up being bitten for even trying to give her the meds/mash mix so I have had to admit defeat and spread it on top of her food instead with the hopes she will take it in that way. I have noticed she was becoming more reluctant to take it in the mornings (she's fine with it in the evenings though) so this does not totally surprise me. I may have to revert back to baby food in the morning - I guess, just like us, parrots can get fed up with the same fare every day π€
Today is a gaming day. I'm going back to Ferelden for my latest DAO run-through. We're off to find the Urn of Sacred Ashes and then we might head to Orzammar if there's time π

Good morning everyone π I had a long lie today as Grant got up for the parrots and am just settling down in the cosy living room with my first coffee. The rest of the house isn't so cosy though as it's blooming freezing today π₯Ά Having the heating on a thermostat is good for the bills, but it does mean the house can be quite cold on days like these.
Still, I'm cosy here with the parrots now listening to Classic FM. Ziggy is making her laughing sounds and Jadie is doing "Squish Squish" as they vie for my attention. Toby just makes clicks and blows occasional kisses, as his is way βΊοΈ
Today is bimble around Lidl day and we also need to go to the vet to fetch Ziggy's medicine refill. Then it's parrot kitchen with broth mix and parrot hummus on the menu.
