Once a year I find something to write an extremely short blog post about, which could probably fit in a post here, but I need notes somewhere I can find them.

This time it's about cool C compiler options that show you stuff that isn't used in any way - data and functions which aren't static.

I only went to Fosdem once, long time ago (2012?). Got absolutely plastered with beer the night before, then, next morning, with the worst hangover of my life, got myself a PostgreSQL mug, listened to a couple interesting talks (pretty sure about PostgreSQL too).

Valgrind and memory/ub/etc sanitizers do wonders. With both you can also figure out what's going on in more details by adding gdb and stopping at errors.

I use C btw.
