I’m pleased to share that my thesis is now available in the University of Basel's repository: https://doi.org/10.5451/unibas-ep96807 🙂 I’m still in the process of converting it (a lightweight version) into HTML, and there’s quite a bit of work involved in getting the formatting, layout, and additional features just right. While it may take some time, I’m committed to making the final version both visually appealing and easy to navigate. Once it’s ready, you’ll find it here: https://phd.julsraemy.ch/thesis.html.

I am thrilled to share that I successfully defended my PhD, Linked Open Usable Data for Cultural Heritage: Perspectives on Community Practices and Semantic Interoperability, at the University of Basel yesterday! 🎉 The presentation is available here: https://julsraemy.ch/prezi/loud4ch-doctoral-examination.html.
In the coming months, the dissertation will be openly accessible both as a PDF in the university library's repository and on a dedicated website in HTML: https://phd.julsraemy.ch.
A big thank you to everyone who supported me along this journey, especially my supervisors Peter Fornaro, Walter Leimgruber, and @azaroth42

Feeling a bit envious not being in Amsterdam this week for the #CIDOC2024 conference at the Rijksmuseum. Wishing everyone attending an insightful experience #FOMO #CulturalHeritage #CIDOCCRM #LinkedArt

After five and a half years, I'm stepping down from the @IIIF Technical Review Committee (TRC) as I prepare to leave my role at DaSCH at the end of October. The TRC is essential in shaping IIIF specs, ensuring inclusivity and transparency as the community grows.
Even if I couldn’t join every meeting live, I always made sure to cast my vote. It’s bittersweet—I've learned so much and been part of incredible work, first as a community representative and then through DaSCH. Although I’m moving on, I’ll stay involved in different capacities through my current role at the Swiss Federal Archives. Grateful for the journey and excited for what’s next!

P.S. Hopefully, this isn’t a permanent goodbye—maybe I’ll rejoin the committee later in my career. #IIIF
