When the chef brought it over, I told him how I'd told them I'm not buying them anything. We had a good laugh, the kids destroyed it and gave feedback.

Well, that was fortuitous.

I walked with the kids to St David Dairy to get some buttermilk. The whole way I'm drumming in that they can't ask to buy anything from the new cafe, how it's an absolute trap for parents, blah, blah, blah.

Walk in, pick up the buttermilk, and as I'm paying the chef/owner of the cafe asks "how would you guys like to try a buttermilk blueberry waffle with lemon curd, creme fraiche sauce, and ice cream".

Both kids looked at me like it was a trick

Ok, yeh, the Nazi salute is confronting, but those of us who know history have been calling this all out for well over a decade.

Meanwhile the real Nazi shit has started, and no one's posting the EO's that enact the actual Nazi shit.

Like, shit that took months/years for Hitler to do, day fucking one.

Another GamePass story:

I installed EA's FC24, because there's no way I'd ever pay for it.

Not only is it annoying to have to install 3rd party stores on my computer, just loading the game up takes like 10 minutes before I'm even at the "start match" screen.

Everything is an online service, every menu needs to check if you're online, and even with a 1Gbps connection, it says my connection is too slow, or has dropped out.

So, it's almost a year to the day since I moved to Fitzroy, and I think tonight will be the first time I've considered going out to see some live music.

Yeh, some of that is financial, but it's mostly just getting used to the area, knowing what's about.

As much as I do believe it takes 3 months for somewhere to feel like home, it takes a lot longer, at least for me, to get the headspace to explore more.

It's one reason this whole moving every year/few years crap in rentals sucks hard
