A thorough breakdown of why and how Trump's (well, Elon's) slapdash federal workforce "buyout" plan is both illegal and dumb.

One of the most interesting things to me about the DeepSeek news is how it has thoroughly taken over Techmeme today. If anything could illustrate what a bubble looks like, it's having some random company's latest software release obliterate all other news in the tech space.

At least in 1933, German plutocrats had the good taste to keep their involvement in putting Hitler in power secret.

I like to dunk on the dismal scientists because, let's face it, a lot of them are insufferable dorks, but it should be said that at least some of them try to be empirically rigorous social scientists. And sometimes that leads to interesting stuff:

I feel bad for anyone who thought Matt Stoller or Tim Sweeney were serious or sincere thinkers about technology and competition policy.

Tim just wants to keep all the money you spend on non-existent goods, and Matt's a crypto-fascist. Hope that clears things up.

I guess it makes sense, now that the US has once again elected their own Netanyahu/W Bush, that the accelerationists on all sides will try to hasten the apocalypse/"clash of civilizations". We can count on violent provocation and reaction getting worse.

Trump voters probably won't get those cheaper eggs they were promised, but I'm sure they'll appreciate having a higher risk of dying in a car crash.
