New nighttime nights layer! This shows nighttime lights data from NASA's "black marble" dataset collected by the Suomi NPP satellite. The data is from 2023.
It should be handy for identifying unmapped power infrastructure. It also looks cool.

The solar generation heatmap layer has been updated to finally take into account power plants which don't have generators mapped. Plant output is (roughly) estimated from area if there is none tagged.
The heatmap weightings have been re-calibrated somewhat (it's not an exact science) to better represent the scale of solar generation which is now present (see: China).

We're now running MapLibre 5.0.0-pre.3 on https://openinframap.org, which seems to have fixed the rendering issues we were seeing related to the globe mode.
If you spot any other weirdness, please let us know so we can pass any issues upstream.

We've also added a search box to make it easier to find places - this is currently just a general-purpose search (many thanks to @opencage for providing the search service!) but I'm planning to add an infrastructure-specific geocoder as well soon.

More updates! The telecoms layer has been updated to add icons for datacenters and exchanges at lower zoom levels, which should make it a lot more useful.

We're now running the (very) new MapLibre GL v5 pre-release, which has freed OpenInfraMap from the tyranny of the Mercator projection.
Thanks to all the hard work from @maplibre contributors which led to this feature finally being merged today!
This is still very new code, so let us know if you see any problems.
