Does anybody know what is this thing? I am writing a blog post and want to fill the alt text for this image. I would say that is an astrolabe, but looking at picture online I can't fine any similar to that.

OK, fediverse, what can I do with one spare Samsung Galaxy S24? I'm looking for fun projects, and happy to root it and install Lineage or any other OS in it (although I have zero experience with tinkering with phones this way).

I'm just finding now that humidity is bad for filament. I've had my PLA lying around on my high humidity home for weeks. Time to get some storage container and dissecant bags I guess :(

My other question is: if I only print something every few weeks, should I be taking out and storing the filament every time?

Pythonistas, any recommendation of serialization library to convert objects to dicts an vice-versa? I've used Marshmallow for many years, but wondering if there is something else out there that I am missing.

@hynek by any chance, do you know if the Beryl AX has any brother that it is even better/upgraded?

I think I'm going to get one in preparation of a long vacation, and I want to make sure I don't run into "oh you should have bought this other one instead which is slightly more expensive but way better".

Python's standard library has a lot of built-in functionality. Before writing new code, make sure that what you need is not already in there, which is what happened on a blog post I found about checking if an IP belongs to a subnetwork.
