Hour 24 has come and gone. Progress is being made and my wife is doing an incredible job. We’re both looking forward to meeting our daughter ❤️

Well, it’s time to start life’s next great adventure. We’ve gotten the call, and we’re heading to hospital for the induction of our first.
I had hoped for one final sleep at home before the onslaught but it’s not to be.

The good news? Though our house is nearing its 200th birthday, it’s not drafty.
The bad? Sleeping with the door closed seems to allow for a near lethal level of CO2!

Cobbling together some new networking equipment, and #HomeLab lab equipment, to get a few things going in our new home. Somehow, getting my main server back online makes it start to feel like home.
Much work to be done!

Well, we and a bank now officially own a house. My wife and I are pretty excited. The bank? They seem pretty blasé, if I’m honest. 😂

Wow. It has been a complete disaster to get here, but it’s FINALLY looking like my wife and I will be home owners (again) on Friday.
The baby comes in 8 weeks.
I’m happy to feel like my life is ‘starting’, or getting ‘on track’ for our goals, but it’s been one hell of a year so far — and it’s only just starting!

Dell Wyse 5070 – RAM and Coral AI
I too have been bitten by the bug and have a growing number of Dell Wyse 5070 thin clients appearing. I've been very happy with them, and since I struggled to find clear info on a couple of upgrades, I thought I'd add my text based ramblings to the Internets in case it's a help for someone else.
I have a 5070 Extended, which has a PCIe 2.0 4x slot. The one I

Looking for homepage recommendations that can serve my, apparently, unusual use-case.
I am looking for is a homepage that consists of a grid of rss feeds. Each feed shows the website name and then just title and the 5 most recent stories. Ideally, it will in some visual way, keep track of the links I’ve clicked but does not display an ‘unread’ count.
I’ve done this with iGoogle, and more recently, protopage, but am looking to self-host something. Suggestions?

Preparing to make some big changes in life, taking a new job and moving a few hours away from ‘home’. Stressful.
To help keep my sanity, I’ve been creating a ‘portable’ #HomeLab centered around a GL-iNet AX1800, w/ Tailscale, plus a #RaspberryPi CM4 based PiBox with a pair of 2TB SSDs.
Surprisingly powerful, handling #Jellyfin, #PiHole, and a VM or two.
Pretty neat to think I can live in a hotel for a while and still keep my most important services running.

@jimsalter I assume you already know this, but the PracticalZFS site is not working. I'm getting "Peer’s Certificate issuer is not recognized." on my end.
I don't think the issue is on my end, but happy to be educated 😀 It started happening for me yesterday and, since you have a day job, I figure you'll get it fixed when you can...
But, just in case you didn't know...

I’m just a guy enjoying the eclipse in the 95% area, but I couldn’t resist taking a few images myself 🥳
I used the Hi-Res mode on my OM Digital OM-1 to capture 80MP images with the 40-150mm f/2.8 lens, plus 1.4x Teleconverter taking me to an effective focal length of 420mm in ‘Full Frame' terms.

@felimwhiteley You've worn me down. I last used KDE in the V3 Days (On Mandrake, if you can believe it...)
But, I installed KDE on my Debian laptop yesterday, via the testing branch.
(I'd love to use the RC of Plasma 6 but I don't see a tidy way to do that on this install...)
Still has strong 'We're like Windows' vibes to me, but it's working well and I'll keep running it for at least the remainder of the month.
MATE has been usurped, at least for now!

Received an Aqara ‘TVOC Air Quality Monitor’ as a Christmas gift. I do not have an Aqara hub, but I do have #HomeAssistant.
I opened the box and pulled out the battery tabs to get the device going. I set my Zigbee2MQTT Addon to allow new devices and then pressed the button on top of the unit for 10 seconds.
It was detected. Easy.
I added it to my dashboard and was delighted to see a little toggle option to change the display units of the device. Perfect. Very happy! I may need a few more…

Books Read: 2022
Having forgotten to make this post at the end of 2022, this post is a little tardy. But, I organize my reading into year based 'Collections' on my Kindle, so knowing what was read isn't too hard to figure out. Figuring our the order in which I read them proving a stiffer challenge!
I started the year with a couple of books on time, and historical time keeping. Firstly, I read 'Longitude: The True Story of
