I have really been enjoying posting my pictures of traveling on #pixelfed

I finally setup and made my first posts to my #pixelfed account.

I was able to travel a lot in the years leading up to the pandemic. So far, I just posted a few pictures from the first leg of my trip to Japan.

Bluetooth headphones for zoom meetings?

I’m on zoom meetings like 8 hours per day. I have a dedicated microphone, but I’d like to get Bluetooth headphones as I’m getting annoyed with the cable.

My only concern is that there would be latency. I’m actively speaking to people and I’m concerned the video and audio will be out of sync.

If this a legit concern?

I was not having a good experience with #pixelfed. Using the mobile web or the app, I was not able to search certain hashtags.

It would auto populate "girls" and "nsfw" when I typed the hash, but it would not search #Cats

I deleted my account on @metapixl and created an account on another instance and I am finally able to search.

I should have contacted the instance first, but I just blamed pixelfed.

Anyway, I am happy now. I'll share my link once I make some posts.

Marvel Rivals has been really fun. After playing for a bit, it feels like #Overwatch remixed. That is not a bad thing. Overwatch ONE was a good game.

I have found the characters I like to play as after a bit and pick up my #steamdeck for a match anytime I have a few moments.

Also, wow! it works on #linux

Whispers of a Machine and Kathy Rain are excellent point and click story games. They got me into that genre. Both games have interesting stories and puzzles to figure out. They are pretty cheap and run naively on Linux.

Please check them out if you are even half interested. Oh, the voice acting is good too.

How would the Australian social media ban for those under 16 be handled by platforms in the fediverse?

I doubt the Australian government can force every federated instance to monitor someone’s ID especially if they are not in Australia and are not Australian.

Is this law just going to push kids to using federated social media?

Saw #wicked with my wife this afternoon. It was better than I expected, but we were both a little bored in the first half.

I really liked the motivations of Elfaba. And I’ll leave it at that to avoid spoilers. But that whole thing is one of my favorite genres.

OK, I finally get it. #archlinux is pretty great. There were things I didn't like about all the big distros and couldn't decide what to put on my computer. I decided to give arch a try and I love how it is a pretty bare bones system that I can setup the way that I like.

I'd never recommend it to a new user, but as a somewhat advanced #Linux user, I am very happy with it.

Are wow private servers still a thing? I’ve been wanting to play wow classic, but I’d play just a few hours a month, so I don’t really want to get a subscription to the game. If they are, can you recommend a server that would be good for me?

Also, has there been a mod that would let me play with a controller on steamdeck?

I’m considering getting a 3060 12gb model to do #ai stuff at home. I’m currently paying for #midjourney and figure that alone is half the cost of the 3060 over a year. I also use other ai stuff that would benefit from a gpu like #wisper . So for anyone who uses this, are there any downsides to this gpu? Should I consider another model? I won’t be gaming with it.

Just used docker for the first one to setup jellyfin. It’s so amazing! I can’t believe I have been ignoring docker for years. It’s wildly easy to setup using docker-compose.

My cat suddenly has been extra skiddish lately. My wife thought she was sick, so I took her to the vet.

She had something on the x-ray and with today's surgery, the doctor found that she has cancer and it spread already.

She has a few months to a year to live.

We were shocked since she is just 3 years old and other than being more scared, she has been in good health. She has been eating and climbing and jumping around.
