In my quest to automate all the things, I've created a new dashboard to summarise digitisation progress at the National Archives of Australia. Every Sunday afternoon, after my harvest of recently digitised files runs, the dashboard will (should?) be updated to display information about files digitised in the last week, the current year, and since my harvests started in 2021. https://wragge.github.io/naa-recently-digitised/ #archives #GLAM #histodons @histodons #digitalHumanities

The ARDC is holding an event on 18 February to begin planning the next phase of the Community Data Lab (CDL): https://ardc.edu.au/project/ardc-community-data-lab/ If you're interested in developing digital tools and resources for HASS research you should go along!
I worked on phase 1 of the CDL and thought I'd put together some rough ideas on what the CDL might be and do: https://updates.timsherratt.org/2025/01/31/a-community-data-lab-cdl.html #GLAM #digitalHumanities #researchInfrastructure

New #openData! In January each year since 2016, I've harvested details of all the records held by the National Archives of Australia with the access status of 'closed' – the stuff we're not allowed to see. I've now got 10 years worth of data that could be used for things like an analysis of the NAA's access examination system. I've finally put all the annual harvests into a dataset and published it on Zenodo: https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.14769172 #archives #GLAM #histodons @histodons

The @zotero translator for Libraries Tasmania has been updated and is once again attaching digitised images and PDFs to items. The translator works across the library and archives catalogues, as well as the names index. I've updated the Libraries Tasmania @zotero translator to fix the problem with missing attachments. It has to be approved before the changes are added to the repo. If you can't wait, you can grab a copy of the translator file and manually add it to your local translators directory. https://github.com/zotero/translators/pull/3412 #maintenance

Put the code for the bots I'm using with The Primary Source into a GitHub repo in case they're of use to anyone. One bot gets items from Zotero and adds to Discourse, while the other gets new posts from Discourse and toots them through the Fediverse. https://github.com/wragge/primary-source/

I've created a new dataset of files digitised by the National Archives of Australia since 2021. The dataset contains compilations by year from 2021 to 2024. The aim is to help document long-term changes in access to files held by the NAA. It's on Zenodo: https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.14744050 #GLAM #archives #histodons #openData
