Did I misread something the other day that #redhat #RHEL 9 #linux had discontinued BTRFS as a default installation filesystem type, and went back to ext4?

If I didn't, I sure wouldn't mind someone pointing out to me why that was. Also, is it still the case in RHEL 10?

I sure wish my 9th grade civics teacher had told me how batshit crazy things could get with several effective propaganda engines concentrated in the hands of a few billionaires.

Life wouldn've be any better, but I'd be a lot less disappointed in the state of things in the USA right now..

I've heard and read comments from people complaining about the wacky schedule for this weekend's #F1 in Las Vegas.

WTH?!

Have these people never gone to, or heard from friends, about Vegas weekends?! This is the normal weekend schedule there.

F1 probably had it dictated to them by the city's race promoters. :)

After #Fedora released the f39 upgrade, I'm finding it pretty interesting that I'm seeing so many posts on "How to Upgrade Fedora to f39..." or some such thing.

Why you ask? Because I've found that the Fedora Project's documentation on upgrading is some of the best I've encountered in their entire doc suite. Why not have these bloggers simply refer their readers to that?

Guess I'll just do it myself; happy upgrading: :)

Google have recently added a login authentication method. They have not: "Google just changed how you log in to your account" - Clueless Washington Post headline writer.

In fairness, the article itself describes what's going on correctly, iirc.

It was still a pretty bad experience for both of us. We're only now beginning to feel ourselves.

TL;DR: Don't believe the hype about "milder" covid-19. It's BS. It's still possible to get very sick from it. Even if you're fully vaxxed up. Be careful out there!

A quick little report on the Covid-19 front: Two and a half weeks ago I was on a flight from DFW to Paris (CDG). There was one person, who never wore a mask, who was quite obviously sick coughing in our direction for 8+ hours. We were both masked up.

My wife and I, quite coincidentally, I'm sure, both got Covid. It was a first for both of us.

We've both been vaccinated and boosted with every available vaccine. Including with the very latest update five days prior to the flight.
