Deutsche Bahn proudly sending me notifications that it'll be two minutes early for my connecting train tomorrow is never not hilarious—

as if I don’t already know them and won’t be ready to sprint with my bags when there are only five minutes left in the end.😅

I got to know about Alioth today. Looks quite an interesting project, especially their error handling practice (Inspired from GreptimeDB):

Especially their chapters on Concurrency and Paging are the most up to date ones I have come across when it comes to building the foundation for the modern systems.

They also have the repo here with most of the code examples they have used in the book:

‪From time to time, people ask me for an operating systems book recommendation, so I try to read any new book that comes onto my radar. I've been reading Three Easy Pieces lately, and I have to say it's now at the top of my list of recommendations.

Upstreaming should be a part of the project planning, not an afterthought. Because otherwise there might be some short wins but all the shortcuts being taken by downstream focused devs will come and haunt you eventually.

Just realized it's been 10 years since my first patch was accepted into the mainline kernel. Time flies I guess :)
