BTW the article is not accessible via the Aix Marseille University #AMU online library, apparently like all non OA papers in #Nature, this insignificant science mag... Anyways the retraction notice is available (https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0924857920300996)

This has somehow slipped under my radar: "Controversial #COVID study that promoted unproven treatment retracted after four-year saga - Paper on #hydroxychloroquine led by French researcher Didier #Raoult is second-most-cited study ever to be withdrawn."

"Overall, the IHU now has 32 retracted papers — 28 of them authored by Raoult — and 230 other studies with expressions of concern."

"Neanderthals and humans interbred more recently than scientists thought

Two teams using different methods both conclude that humans and Neanderthals had children together starting roughly 50,000 years ago. The oldest human genomes ever sequenced are helping to illuminate some extremely ancient baby-making."

"Ignoring population structure in hominin evolutionary models can lead to the inference of spurious admixture events"

"Our results suggest that models accounting for population structure are fundamental to improve our understanding of human evolution, and that admixture between Neanderthals and H. sapiens needs to be re-evaluated in the light of structured models."
