Watching one of my all-time favorite movies which happens to involve video game spyware that secretly reports user behavior back to its creator, plus digital identity theft. Way ahead of its time.

Similar energy to be found on FreeBSD by running this command to trigger an immediate kernel panic:

sysctl debug.kdb.panic=1

Maybe don't do that unless you want your system to panic (and hopefully reboot OK). But you do you, I'm not gonna stop you.

Sailor Yurameku Date Gokoro: A tale of two papers, or: WTF?

Yes, this is the same ink swatched the same way. Not only does it look like a completely different base color, the sheening looks different as well. I like both, thankfully.

Col-o-ring cards (top) are thick/rough. Iroful swatch cards (palette design) are thin/smooth, like the paper. Iroful is known for being different, it's very evident here.

With bonus chromatography shot.

There seems to be a lot of Vizzini-coded behavior going on in the tech sector this week.

This new transparent yellow TWSBI ECO pairs well with Pilot Iroshizuku To-ro.

Sort of as expected, To-ro looks even better in a stub nib than an EF, though I like both. With the larger nib, the subtle shading and darker edges help it stand out even more.

Happy National Handwriting Day!

Sure, it was started by "Big Pen" to get people to buy more Pens/Pencils/Paper, but they already have their hooks in me anyhow, and writing by hand is great.

Turns out the Caribbean Onyx TWSBI Diamond 580ALR is quite close to the Prussian Blue. The CO is a skosh more green, the PB a smidge more blue, but not by a huge margin. The accents, including the nib, are darker/different as well. I like both, just expected a little more distinction, since it looked more green/teal in other photos.

In typical TWSBI stub fashion it shows off the shading in Rikka rather nicely.

My Asvine C2000 is still not sealing well even with an added o-ring. Bummer. Might need to try a different o-ring and/or a different ink.

It's not evaporating much from the converter but the nib won't write until I rinse/wipe it a bit and work the ink back out. It's possible it's clogging (the ink in it is a heavy sheener), but it feels more like it's dried out.

So while it looks great, and writes well when it does write, there is definitely room for improvement.

I liked all of the new Lego CMF (Series 27) but had no desire to chase blind packs. I paid a little more than retail to get a full set for the first time. I may still pick up randoms for fun now that I have them all. I need to take better pics, but these are all fun and pretty well-detailed as far as printing goes.

Hard to pick a favorite out of these, though I can see why most people seem to want the Wolfpack Beastmaster

So they really just went with "Nintendo Switch 2". Don't care, I'm still gonna call it the Swiitch.

The Asvine C2000 finally arrived and it's a beaut! I ordered the "Red" variety but as shown it's more heavy toward blue on the mix which is even better for me.

The 1.1 stub writes well, puts down a nice line with good variation as expected. Nice flow, no problem keeping up with a heavy sheening ink. I inked it with Endless Alchemy Candy Sea, to fit the blue+red color combination and because I didn't have it in any other pens currently.

May as well put a couple more stickers on my laptop. I usually have stickers around but rarely take the step of actually sticking them on things.

Sadly, some of the JetPens stickers wouldn't work here because they have dark details and a transparent background.

It's apparently National Sticker Day so here's something I came up with as a practical application: USBoo.

Marking the port in this manner indicates that it still works, but is slightly haunted.

I have a whole sheet of these stickers, but if I start marking every bit of haunted technology in here, I'd run out fast. It's magic smoke and ghosts all the way down.

Also tried another new Pilot Iroshizuku ink in a pen, Rikka. Sort of a dusty blue. It's nice enough, but the jury is still out. I'm not as immediately pleased with it as I was with To-ro, but I do have many other blues on hand.

At least in the pens I have inked, as shown in the attached image, it's not too far off the 2024 Colorvent ink Blue Moon.

As you can probably tell from the list here, blues/blurples are my favorites. But each one is unique!

Finally had a chance to ink up a pen and try the new Pilot Iroshizuku To-ro. So far, so good. I was right it is somewhat close to Dimine Sunshine Yellow, but it's less orange/more yellow and a tad lighter. Very legible, warm and pleasant. I like both, but if I had To-ro first I probably would not feel the need to get Sunshine Yellow.

I put several of my orange/yellow/gold inks together to compare.

In today's round of Hobby Drama, apparently the owner of the "Benchy" common 3D printer benchmark/test model was bought out and is now trying to get any modified models taken down:

https://www.reddit.com/r/3Dprinting/comments/1hwj9y1/fyi_3dbenchycom_is_sending_lawyers_to_kill_the_fun/

The original model was marked "no derivatives" in its license, but it's been 10 years, and there are thousands of remixes are out there.

Some better modern alternative test models are in that thread. I'm going to start using Cali Cat

Work in progress before/during shots of migrating fountain pen inks and related bits from a small cabinet in a desk to a larger and more visible open cabinet.

My wife moved some things around and no longer needed this cabinet so I decided to use it instead of giving it away.

Still figuring out how I want to arrange things. Might take the Pilot inks out of the boxes so they don't need to be on their sides.

Much easier to reach everything this way.

In true-to-me fashion I follow some advice from this but have yet to make a mark in it despite owning it for about a year and a half. It's too nice. But it's still helpful.

I have the full set of PDFs I can print off and use if I really want to. But will I? Who knows (doubtful).
