Turns out http://www.WillCycle.com receives more visitors from Israel than I realised. They're all getting redirected to https://palestinecampaign.org.

I also put control around who can access the backend. Surprisingly, most admin login attempts are from the USA

I have nothing against Americans overall. Sure, their education system is pathetically ineffective, and is churning out millions of semi-literate people, who are easily exploited by rampant populism peddled by right-wing idiots, and that's only to keep getting worse now.

But I do have sympathy even for those people.

Education is the cure to stupidity, and travel is the cure to xenophobia. Most Americans never even leave their own state.

Quite sad, when you think about it.

18 Castles – an introduction

18 Castles is a multi-day cycle touring route guide, and if old, or ancient buildings are your thing, then you will love this route. Even if you're not into castles that much, this route showcases some of the best riding Devon has to offer. Set entirely within Devon, as is usual for my GoCycle routes, it's a circular route. The route starts, and ends in Plymouth, but you can just as easily start and end in Exeter.

Absolutely knackered now. Since 09:00 I've been working (almost non-stop) on the bathroom in my son's & his gf's house.

The walls are now smooth. The large hole in 1 wall is patched, as are the 2 holes in the ceiling.

Base coat painted on all the walls, and new skirting boards in place. Also removed old sealant from the shower and redid it.

Tomorrow, I'll be painting the walls in colour and finishing the bathroom off.

Seriously happy with how it turned out.

The house is a fixer-upper.

New year – new bike

As I'm writing this, at the start of 2025, I must confess that I'm not planning on buying a new bicycle. That was an option, and of course I considered it. However, buying new seems so utterly wasteful, and upgrading seems to be a far better choice. In fact, I previously wrote about how Upgrade Is The New N+1.
