Does anyone else use #botsin.space to host a Mastodon Bot? It seems to have stopped working as of 24th Dec 2024.

[#]RepairCafe #Coventry this morning. I couldn't attend, but thought I'd post the results here anyway.

Watch the Christmas band playing here...

I know it's a cheap shot, but I'm going to try and lure a few new followers in by posting some of my Loops videos on here too.

So far they are all of my dogs.

So sue me.

For the dog lovers out there. You'd have to really love Bert as his singing is awful.

How AI is changing the world of programming.

I'd credit the author, but I don't know who it is.

My mobile (Oneplus 7Pro bought second hand 5 years ago) is finally on its last legs. Bluetooth is proving very unreliable and I can't find a replacement part for it anywhere. This phone has already had a couple of replacement ports, battery, screen and rear cover, so I think that I've kept it alive long enough.

I'm pretty sure that my next mobile will be a Fairpphone 5. Second hand form CEX as almost all of my tech comes from. #Repairable #reuse #repair #secondhand

I have run out of biscuits. This happens far too regularly. I need a solution.

Unfortunately I'm not really supposed to be eating biscuits, but in this particular instance I'm proving a great fan of cognitive dissonance.

As the most techy in my team at work, I have been nominated as the #Windows11 guinea pig. The work laptop is now downloading the software to migrate (I refuse to call it an upgrade) from Windows 10.

This will go one of two ways. I'll march into work with a bricked laptop seething for them to replace it, or I'll be seething that it worked and I have to use Windows 11 which I guarantee I'll hate.

Give me #Linux any day.

So Saturday was #RepairCafe Coventry. About average for August with 23 items coming to the session including our first ever honey extractor. This owner and the owner of a coffee machine that needed a new micro switch were exceedingly happy when they left with working items and this is the sort of thing that makes it all worth while. #fixers #fixed

Today was #RepairCafe in Rugby & the first time we were in our new location. As it's August I wasn't expecting many items, but 18 was a good showing & apart from not being able to open the kitchen for a while all went very well. As usual everyone did a great job & we fixed more than 50% of everything that came through the door.

A special mention for the gaming chair that Tim fixed (with help from its owner, Aiden) as this has been coming for the past four months & was finally fixed today.

Does anyone remember the Persil washing powder #TVAdverts from the 80s? It proudly announced that it gave your whites a bluey whiteness. Well, I've discovered a much cheaper way to do the same. Just add two dark blue pillow cases to your mostly white bedclothes wash and hey presto!

I should point out that these are not new blue pillow cases. I've had them almost a year and even washed them once or twice before. Ho hum.
