@lexfri After years hearing you blabbering about Taskmaster, I finally gave in and started watching the show.

Now I'm hooked and so glad that I have something like 150 episodes left to watch! (I'm currently in the middle of series 5)

This show makes me laugh out loud a lot, something I don't often do, which helps me get through these stressful times! :)

Digging around my old Macromedia Director projects archive, I stumbled on one of the earliest thing I made with Director 4.0 on a B&W Mac Classic.

It's a very boring pong game with some "cool" checkerboard distortion effect.

To achieve the effect, the assets were pre-rendered using Photoshop 2.5 (which did work on a B&W Mac!). The "Spherize" filter was used on the ball for each combination of checkerboard patterns and "Emboss" was used for the paddle.

I remember being fascinated as a kid by the nonfunctional Save and Load commands in the Excitebike track editor.

Even then I suspected that it required an accessory only available in Japan.

And indeed it was possible with a tape recorder connected to the Famicom Family BASIC keyboard accessory.

Recently I found out that it's possible to make it work on the NES by connecting a simple circuit to its unused expansion connector!
