Someone on the security team fielded a bounty report that seemed bogus relating my team’s ownership. They reproduced it, found the problem, preposed a fix that only needed minor tweaks, and deployed it (on a Friday). It’s so nice, I’m usually on the other end of this interaction.

I always love it when a company replaces a product outside of its warranty period for free but I generally assume there’s going to be a class action lawsuit or something. Sure, it helps their reputation maybe but it’s certainly not done out of the goodness of their board’s heart.

I recently disconnected a sectional couch in the hopes that the dogs stop bouncing off the couch while doing the zoomies. First, the end piece was disconected for reasons. Then, I noticed they started using a middle section instead. But if I disconnect that, it would be really hard to move on to the next piece because of angles and acceleration. FTR, I am pro zoomies but they are destroying the couch and have alternative zoomie options.

On the first Monday of the year, I struggled with some very basic SQL. I wrote “select count(select unique(user_id) from …)” and I fucked up the where clause. And they pay me.

Also, Sony is absolutely crushing it lately. The Portal was good enough before it got direct cloud play. The PS5 pro was a significant upgrade. The last year of exclusives account for most of my gaming. I expect the PSVR 2 to be as impressive.

Edit: TIL the PSVR 2 came out before the portal. Hopefully the trend started with the PSVR 2 and not the portal.
