Would love some tips from others on something I'm struggling with right now--how to stay up to date on the carnage in order to be informed and take action where I can, but without getting overwhelmed and stuck in unproductive reading about the seemingly boundless assault Trump & co. are unleashing.

If you use digitized items (photos, manuscripts) or digitized historical audio/visual archives for your research, there is a new study out trying to understand how you find/use digitized, online library materials. The short, anonymous survey should take approximately 8-10 minutes to complete. https://forms.office.com/r/nuqD9ZJzFq

Send questions to Sarah Severson (sarah.severson@ualberta.ca) & Nailisa Tanner(nailisa.tanner@mcgill.ca) #digitalcollections #archives #research

"Free For All: The Public Library" https://www.pbs.org/independentlens/documentaries/free-for-all/ is a wonderful film highlighting their important role in our lives, but doesn't shy away from the historical racism and classism. Current issues (book banning, attacks on libraries/librarians, etc.) are presented in an historically grounded way. The message that we must actively, intentionally, support and strengthen our libraries to ensure they meet community needs comes through loud and clear. #libraries #bookbans #publiclibraries
