Quite late to the game, but I’m considering getting into #eink #ebook readers and ideally buying #drmfree ebooks (I don’t mind paying a bit more for those). Looks like choices are very limited nowadays, at least for the major publishers. Ideally also on a distraction-free device without ads and without a full fledged mobile OS like Android. #Kobo and #PocketBook seem the most reasonable choices, apparently also with #Libby & #Overdrive integration for public libraries in #Canada. Tips welcome 🙂

These clusters confirm what I noticed living in #Denmark, great #cycling infrastructure in the cities, but very little in more rural or suburban areas. This is unlike the #Netherlands, which has infrastructure almost everywhere, even in small towns and suburbs. I suspect even #Flanders in #Belgium might be a bit better in rural/suburban areas (although still not great, and nowhere near the Netherlands). Would be interesting to see a comparison.

Sad to see that the level of mathematics and science #education in #Flanders and #Belgium is in steep decline in the recent #TIMSS results (Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study). In 1995, Flanders was 5th and in 1999 & 2003 6th in the world for mathematics behind Singapore, South Korea, Hong Kong, Chinese Taipei, and Japan. In 2011 it was still 7th. Flanders has now dropped to 24th place: https://timss2023.org/
