Okay #react people. Say for example, you are loading data from an API and you have to process it further after it was loaded before you can actually render it somewhere. Are you writing the function that fetches data to return data, or are you still writing the data to state and you have a separate useEffect that processes that data whenever it changes?

I dread every time I have to work with useEffect() in react. And it makes me mad, every time. Again and again. I have retried probably 6-7 different architectural patterns and eventually, there has to be an // eslint-disable-next-line react-hooks/exhaustive-deps somewhere.

No blogpost I find addresses all the issues I have of setting loading states, unsetting errors if there errors, etc.

Maybe I should actually have multiple effects present at the same time. #react

I love that some people even in this space needed recent Elon events to occur, to finally cut ties with Twitter. As if that was not an obvious development.

You held on to that in hopes that you could algorithmically benefit. Now it has become clear that it won’t do you any good any longer. In the meantime, some of us haven’t been groveled into submission to feed our own ambitions for a few years at this point.

I hope you learn something from this.
