Anyone got any suggestions of an alternative word to “Project" in a task management app?

Reasons I want another word: "Project" sounds heavyweight, and it implies that a project is only useful if it contains tasks. I want creating a project to be a lightweight action, any time you have a new thing you want to accomplish.

I would use "goal" or "objective", but for the fact I want to allow for ongoing ones as well (like “Keep the house tidy" -- that's not completable!).

Best takeaway from #pragmaconf? It’s motivated me to be more disciplined about working on my side project app. I’m committing to spending every Tuesday evening on it going forward.

Anyone worked with super large images in a Cocoa (Mac) app? Think 300k x 300k pixels, in at least 16 bits per channel.

At very least I need to be able to read individual pixels out of a TIFF file.

Making a whole image buffer in CoreGraphics to store the decompressed file is not really feasible. Any suggestions how else I can read a subset of the image without doing this?

Update on my HRT woes. Apparently since the Cass review my GP has decided that they won’t prescribe HRT to trans people unless they are under the care of a gender clinic. I was discharged from the gender clinic over a decade ago, as my transition was complete. The GP requires a specialist to overview my blood test results and won’t continue to prescribe HRT without one.

I specifically asked if he would continue to prescribe HRT while I was on the waiting list for a specialist, and was told no.
