I’ve always disliked the word “expert” because it’s overused.
I have underused it. I am an expert in my workplace on many topics, and after participating in so many areas of inquiry for 30 years, I am an expert in many strange topics. But it’s never enough. There is always more to learn. And there are always those people who don’t care to listen to you anyway.

The downers keep on coming. Just heard that my step mom's cancer is spreading. She has to start chemo which is going to be super tough on my Dad. As you get older, you really have to find bits of joy when you can get it. Restoring TikTok isn't going to fix any problem. Our system of communication, education, monetization, marketing, and government interference is broken. I am frustrated that scientists, etc. complaining they lost their platform can't collectively figure out how to move forward without this sort of interference.
