I'm really doing my best to stay off social media this week for my mental health, but here is some painting!
Finally came back around to working on the little witch! It turns out the subtleties of painting skin tones are not exactly like riding a bicycle. Struggled a bit with getting paint to proper consistency, but ultimately happy with how things are progressing.
These layers are establishing highlights, but eventually will get tinted, as the light sources aren't white light. I'm going to have to be really brave for that part.

Needed a stand in for Nobbla Blackwart for blood bowl tonight, and I was feeling lazy so decided to do it on the filament printer...
Filament supports are really a whole vibe. And by vibe I mean HR Giger bondage fantasy situation
Anyways, I ripped the head off trying to remove the supports so I may need to figure out a plan b

In today's "fighting back the darkness" news, I went on the treadmill, ordered the gaslands book (not from Amazon, eBay seller - FLGS distributors didn't have it), put all paint on shelves and printed movement templates for gaslands in jazzy new bi-pride filament! Take that you bastards!

The problem with letting my daughter root through all the Bones 6 minis is that she has almost identical taste to me, so she keeps grabbing ones that I would choose to paint!
It's fine, I've got more minis than I can paint in a lifetime, but it still stings slightly 😂

Daughter is unfortunately quite sick with a fever, so we're not getting up to much today. The good news is I got some painting done!
Seventeen glowing pairs of goblin (one goblin king) eyes painted, along with the gods only know how many mushrooms.
Painting in batches is simply not the way my brain works, I prefer to meander through, so it's always a pleasant accomplishment to get something done on a whole unit of minis.

So I was painting the large Balatro "Nope!" And it occurred to me that a smaller version would be an excellent turn/reroll marker for the team. Thus: don't ever talk to me or my son ever again

One of the things Balatro has are foil/holographic/polychrome cards that are special versions of other cards. Seemed like a good fit for the team's positionals.
Here the brave Captain Test Marine is undergoing experiments with metallic medium and the base colors of the rest of the team. Not sure I have it totally nailed yet. Straight medium over the paint is too thick, mixed kinda goofs up the base color. Possibly a thinned version of the medium mixed and over the top.
Either way I'm excited for a foil edition wardancer.

Our dogs are both part lab, and as such, basically living vacuum cleaners. Our kitchen floor stays very clean with minimal bending down. One of them occasionally has to be stopped from eating rocks. So it's always funny to me when I discover a food they decide is not edible. Today's addition: sweet & spicy Doritos
