The orange man guts aviation safety. A crash happens. His propaganda mouthpieces blame it all on DEI, with investigation still ongoing and no evidence to support such theories, yet people accept it as fact. Cool and normal. Let's see how appointing his anti-vaxx friend as the health secretary play out.
He's putting actually unqualified people in key positions, but people worry that someone who doesn't look like them might get an opportunity to use their skills. Ugh.

After years of working with corporate SSOs, I have come to believe that it stands for Single Sign-Out.

Honestly, Ctrl+Shift+C in Zoom is the worst shortcut ever. Half the time I want to paste without formatting, Zoom pops up, turns on my camera, and wants to record my screen. At first, I thought I had a virus on my machine. Here's the setting you need to disable.

I thought to myself "there must be a book on Mezzio that gives us just the right level of practical knowledge so I could recommend it people" and then the first result was a book written by Matthew Setter, someone I enjoyed working with. The world is very small.

I gotta say, Rector has come a very long way since I started using it in 2019, when it was still a moving target.
The rules explorer is nice: https://getrector.com/find-rule
So is the AST analysis: https://getrector.com/ast
This project does everything possible to make adoption easy, both for end users and contributors. Writing custom rectors for unique legacy cases really helps.

This is still my favorite guide to getting PHPStan working in PHPStorm. I prefer this to the PHPStorm documentation, the latter being much harder to follow when you just want to get things done.

"The CSN, the union that represents the workers in Laval, said workers were dissatisfied with what they described as a hectic work pace, low wages and inadequate health and safety measures." Side-note: love the choice of photo, an amazon road sign pointing to the exit.

"In May 2024, about 300 workers at the Laval warehouse successfully unionizedβa historic first in Canadaβdespite facing two years of anti-union tactics, intimidation, and surveillance." Stuff like that should get people fined and even jailed.

I also closed my account entirely to send them a message. You can't abuse worker rights in Canada without consequences.

Convinced someone to cancel Amazon Prime, because no company who so blatantly abuses employees and fires them all when they unionize should remain in business. We're still stronger together. We just need to vote with our money. I stopped shopping on that site ages ago.

Spent some time this weekend redesigning the fundraising page for our air recon unit in Ukraine πΊπ¦. It even has the full list of donations, which I assembled from the various channels through which we received them.
Everything remains anonymous, of course. I don't store ANY personal info, not even the e-mail address used to send receipts. I didn't realize just how many people helped us until I scrolled that page. I am lucky to be in such an amazing community.

I've been nudging devs towards the headless CMS for many years. I'm very happy to see my colleague Yeshua write about it.

I came up with this trick where I reserve some recurring time in my schedule for uninterrupted work (at least 1.5 hours each). When I think of something I need to work on, I edit the next slot with this topic. These last two weeks were incredibly productive. I got a ton of the non-urgent stuff done.
