I don't know if this is ignorance or a wilful distortion of the facts for clickbait. What it should say is that four "L-roads" in County Galway will remain at 80km/h. Rural N-roads and R-roads will remain at 80km/h or higher.

So apparently the result is so close that they are delaying an announcement so that they can carry out a recheck of bundles from this count.

I wouldn't rule out a full recount.

Lynn Ruane has been elected and it's getting very tight indeed for the final seat with only 117 votes between the two Greens and Ruane's surplus of 354 to be distributed now

The NUI Panel is done and dusted - business as usual with Michael McDowell, Rónán Mullen and @aliceeire all re-elected.

The TCD Panel is getting very very tight in the last few counts.

@sadhbhoneill has been eliminated and her transfers are probably going to elect Lynn Ruane.

After Ruane's surplus is distributed it looks like one of the two Greens, @HazelChu and Ossian Smyth, will be eliminated, but their transfers might then elect the other one. @gavreilly

Apparently not all panels will be counted today in the Vocational Panels.

The schedule is: Cultural and Educational count today, Agricultural tomorrow, Labour Saturday, Industrial Sunday and Administrative panel on Monday.

So it will be Monday before we have the full make of the 27th Seanad Éireann

In summary, the five incumbents look set to be re-elected with one seat up for grabs in the TCD Panel. Aubrey McCarthy is in pole position but Hugo McNeill, @HazelChu, Ossian Smyth and @sadhbhoneill are all in the running

Hopefully the Green/Climate vote can consolidate to elect one of either Chu, Smyth or O'Neill but it could be a long count.

Looks like Rónán Mullen will be re-elected to the Seanad NUI Panel. Hopefully with the change to the constituency, this will be the last time. Michael McDowell looks to be topping the poll.

On a more positive note, @aliceeire looks likely to be elected and @evadowling put in a good showing.

On the Trinity panel, Lynn Ruane and Tom Clonan look certain to be elected. @HazelChu looks to be in fifth place but could do well on transfers.
