Ik hoop dat ze haar plannen met de Marechaussee heeft overlegd. Die hebben nl ook niet ongelimiteerd personeel.

Natuurlijk zijn ze tegen. Het levert een economische strop op. Plus waar gaan we de mensen vinden om elke grensovergang te controleren? Dit is 100% symboolpolitiek.

Democratie vereist in mijn ogen ook solidariteit. Onder de VVD ging dat hard achteruit, waardoor we nu met een totaal versplinterd politiek landschap zitten.

Zoals Robert A Heinlein ooit opmerkte:

"What is supposed to happen in a democracy is that each sovereign citizen will always vote in the public interest for the safety and welfare of all. But what does happen is that he votes his own self-interest as he sees it... which for the majority translates as 'Bread and Circuses'."

Niet heel verwonderlijk. De meeste kranten gebruiken sociale media als verkapt reclame kanaal. Bijna elk artikel zit achter een betaalmuur. Je kan via de sociale hooguit koppen snellen, dus dat het gerichte 'gratis' nieuws meer aandacht krijgt is niet meer dan logisch.
