I found this cold, dead bird on my front doorstep this morning, and I find myself wondering about its story. Was it seeking food? Shelter? Was it being chased?

While I recognize I couldn’t have helped it even if I’d known about its plight, it’s sad to see a creature lose its battle for survival. How fragile life is.
